Intermedia CLOUD OVERVIEW:.
When Toshiba dropped out of the telecom market in 2017 PSB moved to the telecom market leader NEC. NEC's cloud system had been around for over 15 years and had full pbx functionality. As CLOUD phone companies started to offer a complete telecom suite under a single pain of glass (one screen to do all apps) NEC decided to Audit the entire CLOUD telecom space. So what happens if you find a better product that your own? Well you buy a large chunk of the company and call it yours. They branded it Univerge.Blue.
NEC expanded this USA only CLOUD telecom solution and took it to mulitple continents. In 2024 NEC being the largest supplier of Business Telephone Systems in less than 100 phones and 3rd with more than 100 phones surprised everyone by anouncing their exit from Telephone premise. A few months later they again surprissed everying and sold their Univerge Blue customers back to Intermedia and left telecom.
Intermedia is a private company and unlike most all other CLOUD telecom platforms has been profitable for years. They invest far more in R&D than most making their product the best out there. Intermedia ran their direct customers through a call center. Even though it based all around the world to follow the clock Intermedia has won top awards for their call center service in the industry like JD Powers Best. The former NEC Univerge Dealers most having decades of telecom experience handle suport directly.
While Intermedia would program the system for free for Univerge Dealers PSB decided we could do a better job directly. PSB did not stop there as we offered to program the system even after the system at least for the first year (Jeez it been 6 years and noboby has been charged yet for any change). Only one of our customers has programmed their own system, the rest use the free PSB remote programing offer. PSB provides a turn key solution by folks with decades of business telephone experience for free include computer generated custom greetings. Our PSB customers never have to program anything or learn how to. They simply call us for free.

While a premise system is a big one time purchase a CLOUD system is a subscription service. A CLOUD telecom company is a software company and some are just a sales organization (rebrading someone elses CLOUD). CLOUD phones often share the the connection of the users computer. The data wire goes to the phone first and then the phone supplys data to the computers thus saving on cabling costs. Intermedia provides free apps that turn your computer, laptop, smart phone, into a phone. Intermedia also includes a quality free desk phone for most licenses or a discount against a high end model. Unlike most CLOUD telecom companies Intermedia allows MIX and MATCH of user licenses so you only need to spend for each users needs vs spending what the most powerful users needs for everyone. Intermedia allows multiple phones to be connected at the same time for most of its users. All Intermedia systems have one free Auto-Attendant of any depth and up to 10 free groups such as park, paging, ring groups (eg sales, service, finance, etc.). Parker-South_Bay will test your Internet before and post installation; We can install a small program on a PC on your network (no charge) OR short term loan (no charge) of a PSB testing appliance. After install we can occasionally retest if issues arrise or you may purchase our inexpensive appliance for a on going record. This will help find issues before you know they exist or focus your internet supplier on clearing issues.
