NEC partnered with them for 5 years making them even better. We at PSB make the solution even better by having you call us directly, not some off shore call center. We include all remote labor free and free from PSB not some call center. At PSB we are small enough to know each of our customers and how their company and system works. Unlike most all other Intermedia dealers and other CLOUD companies, PSB directly designs, programs, trains, maintains your system and for free. Intermedia is a large, long time CLOUD provider, and has the distinction of being profitable for years (yes, Ring Central we are laughing at your 3 profitable quarters in entire history). Of course Intermedia has more than one data center in the USA and with auto failover should a comet crash into one or the other providing five 9's (99.99999% uptime each year. Haha MS Teams only has three 9's).

PSB has been doing VoIP and CLOUD since the beginning. Having issues, let us start with speed test directly to intermedia servers from inside your network. We can let it run in the background to look for tempermental issues over long periods of time...free. We have run enough data cable to know that not all cable or installers provided a quality or consistent installation. Most data traffic is not really time sensitive. You don't notice a one second delay in a webpage repsonse or file transfer. However, VoIP (voice over internet) goes badly quickly even with a 1/10 second delay. While non VoIP traffic quietly retries thousands of times without ever reporting an error there is no time to retry even once for VoIP.

Being a small company makes every customer a big fish in our pond. We know you. We include all our remote labor free. You have nothing to program yourself! A good starting place is choosing between a CLOUD or PREMISE based system. We are now at a point with CLOUD systems that 90% of all companies acquireing a new business telephone system are choosing the CLOUD option. Choosing the CLOUD can have almost a zero initial cost but substantial monthly payemnts. PREMISE is a very high one time cost and a lower monthly cost for phone service and whatever you work out for progrograming and maintenance (most premise systems are vendor programed and maintained by T&M or maintenence contracts). Typically in 2-5 years you break even between CLOUD and PREMISE (does not include PREMISE vendor fees).

The reasons for even considering a premise are dwindling fast. Certain solutions like hundreds of phones but only 4-8 calls at any one time (eg old folks home, hotel, etc.). Another might be a tiny business that has a dozen phones for anyones use spread without with few people tied to a particular set. If you need nothing but phones have access to reasonable priced dialtone phone service (eg cable) but have crappy or no internet. CLOUD sytems are maintaned by the CLOUD company and programming is usually up to you, especially after the intial build.

Note that PSB includes free turnkey remote CLOUD programming before and after the sale so why bother to learn? Other CLOUD offerings expect you do use website knowlege basis and call centers that answer quick but you have to work your way through several tiers to get an answer on muliple subjects or interactions between features. Often these are overseas call centers with accents and folks trained in just one task. PSB's CLOUD offering sets you free of call centers. Call us directly as we have full control. If an issues requires a call center PSB will call on your behalf.

Traditionally premise systems could last 20 years but those days are gone as now premise systems are based on a public operating system that needs constant security updates and feature changes for the era of features available today (eg off site phones, mobile apps, softphones, internet phone service). Wow, The first smart phone came out in 2005! They are constantly being updated almost every month. Sellers of premise have or are moving towards a subscription beyond the one-time price and pretty much aim for a 5yr mission.

On the premise side PSB offers what we think is the best CLOUD system (Intermedia) and with a PSB twist being the best way to obtain it. PSB has been selling this cloud (NEC branded Univerge.Blue) since early 2020 and all our customers love it. Because of this most of the long time premise players have left the industry or are in years of financial trouble. We have doubts about most of the remaining premise options, especially after the profitable market leader NEC decide to get out of telecom after 100 years. NEC offered 5 business telephone platforms. One of NEC's platforms 3C which is heavily used by DOD, large companies and cities has been acquired by Forerunner Technology with plans to continue development. Forerunner has decreased pricing for systems under 300 users to make it very attractive to SMB and thus the PSB choice for a premise based system.

Ask about NEC Bridge where you can marry/expand a NEC premise sysem with the NEC CLOUD which also allows select users to be both at same time. Only NEC has this bridge.

As of 2025 the truth is that a CLOUD solution is the correct solution for about 90 percent of those getting a new phone system

3A) I have A NEC Phone System

NEC Telecom has prospered for over 100 years. However, even though they sold more business systems with less than 100 users in the world for the last 8 years while maintaining profit as well as the #3 player in business phone sysems over 100 in the world, NEC unexpected decided it was time to leave the industry while being on top. Remaining support, inventory, and Licensing to 2030 was taken over by Forerunner, one of the largest NEC dealers in the USA. PSB is now an authorized Forerunner dealer to continue to have access to the remaining new stock, additional licensing and support to 3/31/2031, and to continue indefinately the NEC 3C PREMISE platform rebranded as Forerunner InForm Voice.

While features are locked for NEC Business Phone Platforms for the SL2100, SV9100, SV9500 (sv9300 ends earlier) security updates, expansion licensing, and support will be available to 3/31/2030. NEC is keeping factories open to the end of 2025 for last orders but must be of a sizeable run...ask. PSB has access to remaining NEC inventory and has some onsite inventory... call. NEC 3C fully lives on under the Forerunner InForm Voice banner.

Forerunner InForm Voice (Formerly NEC 3C) scales from 1 to 30,000+ users and is used heavily by DOD, Government, and large customers as well as customers of all sizes. With its imense base and long term DOD/Government committements Forerunner purchase the product line and staff from NEC. They have been very busy in the last year. PSB has seen the secretroadmap for the next couple of years and it is intense. Forerunner has lowered pring for systems under 300 users systems and offers many NEC customers a way to keep their phones (PSB would have to reflash the firmare). Since this was one of their largest platforms we know the security and mobile apps are top notch. InForm can expand your current NEC system via networking. PSB is also an authrorized dealer for Intermedia CLOUD (formerly NEC Univerge.Blue) which also alows you to expand your NEC system as a PREMISE/CLOUD hybrid.

3B) I have a TOSHIBA Phone System

Toshiba Telecom past away in 2017 as they were in the same division as Toshiba Nuclear Power that years later found a 9 Billion Dollar Oops in the acquistions of GE Nuclear Power. Mitel continued the torch another couple of years and exited Toshiba anything.

With 35+ years of Toshiba and a tendancy towards being a packrat, we still have lots of new and a tremendous amount used stock Toshiba back to 1991 and spotty back to 1985. If we do not have it, we know friends who do. We lived it then and remember much. We even have used stock of curent models. Toshiba has the reputation for the longest lasting hardware.

Our business is focused on selling, installing, programming, training, servicing phone systems. We do not focus on selling parts to other vendors or web sales. Thus inventory is not generally packaged for immediate shipment, but you might get lucky.

The new 2021/2022 e911 laws (Kari's Law and Ray Baum's Law) prevent most used systems from being reinstalled or having and in some cases having a major upgrade. Typically you can expand or have minor upgrades. It is overzellous law when it comes to a company with phones all in one close area that e911 would come to the same door for a e911 call from any phone. The only winners will be the lawyers as this is a hugh liability for companies and vendors.

We can expand your Toshiba or NEC in many cases even with the 2021/2022 new e911 laws. We often have brand new virgin equipment that was not sold as it was replaced with a newer model at the same price and did not have the heart to sell it to customers as other dealers do. We have lots of trade-ins from those upgrading or going out of business. These include the current generation of CIX40, CIX100, CIX200, CIX670, ipedge EP, ipedge EC, ipedge EM. Voices mails such as App Server, MAS, Mini-MAS, XPE16, IES16, IES32, IVP-8r2, IPV-8, Stratagy DK, and even some older units were embarressed to mention. We also have the 90's models the DK series: (dk14, dk16, dk40, dk40i, dk280, dk424, dk424i). Most chose to move to our Intermedia CLOUD system when it comes time to modernize. Folks are amazed at the power and enjoy turnkey operation of their new PSB Intermedia CLOUD with free remote PSB design, programming before and after the sale!!!, training, and suport with extended hours. 4) I need better/cheaper phone service for my existing phone system.

The big names in the SF Bay area in dialtone are AT&T, Telepacific, & Comcast. AT&T and Telepacific are really not your friend. However are Dialtone can be in any of the 48 states. In the SF Bay Area many are getting Dear John letters from AT&T explaining a price increase as high as $473 per copper phone line.
